How much does data retrieval cost?

Author: I have some documents and pictures on a hard drive external enclosure that I would like to retrieve. How much does this service cost? And how do they do it? Do they scan the hard drive, then save everything onto a CD?

Well, something like that you can do yourself, assuming it is in fact an external hard drive, just copy what you need to a disc
